A place in the sun.
If there is a place in the middle of the Adriatic Coast that recalls the essence of the ancient ways of Dalmatia and yet offers modern standards, then it is definitely Tribunj.
Although it has been oriented towards tourist for a long time,it has still remains an old fishermens village.All the Tribunj fish restaurants are well known to the gourmands,and the fishmermens boats that enter the local dock after fishing create an atmosphere long forgotten in the other villages along the coast.All these docks are decorated in the early Fallwith casks of domestic wines,and the life of Tribunj local fishmermen moves into the hinter land where they work in their vineyards and olive groves,producing the wines and olive oil for which Tribunj is well known.
In the Fifteenth Centiry,a small bridge was built connecting the old village to the main land.The architecture of the Old Village has been preserved.The history of Tribunj is closely connected to the building of the smallchurch of St. Nicholas,the protector of the village.
There is a beautiful vantage point from which you can see the whole village.There is a pine forest,the beach Zamalin,and a little bit further there are two natural beaches,Sovlja and Bristak.
But what does modern Tribunj offer to their guests?
In its apartments,Tribunj offer 1830 beds.In its marina, there are 260 morings for boats,and in the restored old church,there is a library and Internet center.There is a post office,a bank office,a tourist agency,and parking is available in front of the bridge.
During the Summer, thereare different festivals taking place in Tribunj: Fishermans Night, Donkeys Race, Line Fishing Cup.
