Premantura (10 km from Pula) is a picturesque town located in Istria's far south, which was already settled during the Bronze Age. The remains of rustic villas are evidence of the ancient Romans' wise selection of Premantura as an ideal living space. The long, narrow peninsula of Kamenjak gives Premantura it's most recognizable characteristic. This peninsula is 9,5 km long and as wide as 1,5 km and stretches into the Adriatic Sea like a long arm. Kamenjak encircles a 30 km coastline dotted with numerous inlets and miniature beaches, and this primeval beauty is augmented by small island which arise from the crystalline blue-green sea.

In Premantura there are several restaurants, shops, discotheques, tourist agencies which organise excursions, water sports, in the resort tennis yards, riding school in its surroundings and diving center (wreck diving, diving courses, renting equipment, services of hyper baric chamber...). The best sea-spider farms on the Adriatic lie east of Premantura, in the shallows of the rocky coast; they are gathered in spring by means of special platforms and forked fishing tools (grampo).

Premantura is picturesque place located in Istria`s far south, which was already settled during Bronze Age. It is surrounded by nature not many places can boast of. South of the town is Cape Kamenjak – a protected landscape 9.5 km long, 1.5 km wide, with altogether 30 km of indented coastline. No place in the world is the sea so blue-green, so clean as here at the southernmost tip of Istria. There are plenty of rocky beaches, as well as pebbly coves. On a relatively small area there are 530 plant species and among them 20 orchid species, some of which are endemic. For this reason there are no campsites on this cape, hotels or any other type of structures. When visiting Cape Kamenjak, don't miss its southernmost tip where a great attraction is jumping into the sea from high cliff with torches.
Premantura is a unique experience, not simply one of the places to rest. Owing to the favorable winds it is ideal for water sports in summer, but also until late autumn. At the end of October the attractive meeting of windsurfers - Hallowind takes place. For those who wish to dive into the fascinating underwater world, there are many diving centers in town. It is also a great place to catch fish. This is one of the few destinations with a beach for the visually impaired.

A characteristic feature of the Premantura is surely its diversity. Visitors can choose sandy, rocky, pebbly beaches or those with cliffs. Nature has been generous. The special characteristic of these beaches are pine trees protecting from the hot midday sun where you can relax with the chirping of crickets.
Don't miss visiting the protected area of Kamenjak. Choose one of the numerous coves along the 30-kilometer-long coastline of the peninsula. The crystal-clear sea is of a special color and taste here. You can reach Kamenjak by car, bike or boat. An entrance fee is charged only for visitors arriving by car, and since this is a protected landscape all cars must leave Cape Kamenjak by 9 pm.
Favorite beaches for locals, as well as tourists are also the small islands off Banjole - Frašker and Fraškeric. In Medulin Bay Ceja, Bodulaš and Levan islands are the perfect excursion sites since they also provide catering facilities. There is regular boat service to Ceja and Bodulaš islands, whereas all other islands can be reached by taxi boat.
Each town also has its public beaches equipped with showers and toilets indicated on the map. Apart from the already mentioned sandy beach Bijeca in Medulin there is Munte in Premantura, Citinera in Banjole, beach in Pješcana Uvala and campsite Pomer in Pomer. [...]
