Novalja, the best developed tourist centre on the island of Pag, is situated in the area of low, gently indented coasts, sheltered from the Bora and exposed to the sun, facing the vast sea area of Kvarneric. Such conditions, favourable to the growth of tourist demand, have facilitated the development of modern tourist offer. Nature has endowed this region with lovely beaches in close vicinity of the town: Zrce, Caska, Trincel, Babe, Vrtic, Strasko and Branicevica.

The island of Pag is one of the largest islands in the Adriatic: covering an area of 285 km2 it is the fifth in size, and with its 270 km long, indented coast Pag has the longest coastline among the Adriatic islands, dotted with bays and coves, capes and beaches. The largest among them, Pag Bay, is encircled by 20 kilometres of pebbly beaches.

In summer Novalja entertains a number of cultural, art, recreation and sports manifestations, to enrich its tourist offer. Among cultural events worth mentioning are the local dance "Naski" in richly embroidered folk costumes and close-harmony singing. The most valuable among historical sights is the ancient aqueduct from the 1st century, hewn out of live rock, long about 1.5 km and in some places deep over 40m.

Tourists will enjoy a rich gastronomic offer which includes such delicacies as the Pag cheese and lamb, and seafood specialties. The island of Pag as well as Novalja are well connected to the mainland, in the north by the ferry line Prizna-Zigljen, and in the south-east by the road bridge spanning Ljubacka Vrata. For those who arrive by boat, Novalja and the surrounding tourist destinations will be easy of access, regardless of the type of boat.
