We would like to introduce ourselves and to acquaint you with a new offer in the tourism of Istra Croatia.
We are a group of people who live and work in Umag ,a small town in the north of Istra.,in the beautiful country of Croatia. We offer accommodation to tourists who want to spend their holidays in our marvellous nature.
We are situated in the town centre of Umag nad in the surrounding villages of Murine nad Rozac . Murine are 3 km far from the centre of Umag. It is a peaceful place.You Can easily reach the most attractive beaches of Stella Maris and Katoro by a 1800m long road which passes through the woods. The village of Rozac is 2 km far from the centre of Umag.It is a quiet place,300m far from the sea nad 900m from the beach.
We have been organizing accommodation for tourists for about 10years.From September 2007 we offer the classical summer tourism as well as a pleasant stay in Istra for those who love mushrooming nad mycology.
In our town there is a large prganization of mushroom gatheres who know various species of mushrooms and medical herbs.Therefore, we can organize long walks in our woods for individuals or groups of tourists. You will certainly notice the originality of our offer which includes the accommodation in our rooms and apartments as well as mushrooming.If you want to have fun,we can give you an unforgettable experience of doing some cooking together –we can prepare the previously gathered mushrooms or pickle them.
Istra is one of the European regions richest in species of mushrooms.We are very proud of these fruits of the earth nad we try to save this richness for the new generations by using it rationally nad by protecting nad taking care of our woods and meadows.
The first species of mushrooms that grow in spring ,at the begining of April are the following ;Morcnella crassipies,M.rotunda,M.vulgaris,Entolomaclypeatum,Boletus appendiculatus,Calocydegambosa,lots of species of Russula nad other spring mushrooms.
In autumn ,depending on the weather nad mounth,there are many more species of mushrooms The mushrooms season usually starts with Boletus edulis,Boletus aereus,all species of Leccinum,lots of species of Russula,Lyopnyllum decastes,Clitocybe seotmopa,Armillariella mellea,Svillus nad many of the genus of Lactarius. Actually,we dare say that here you can find all species of European edible mushrooms.The best mushrooming season is autumn,during September,October nad the first half of November.If you want you can pick up also a chestnuts or wild asparagus.
As far as your haliday is concerned ,we can make the plan of your stay according to your wishes. Your wishes are very important to us nad we will try to make ypir stay here as pleasant as possible.
