Hvar is the sunniest island of the Adriatic Sea. Swimming season is from May to October. The fragrance of lavender, rosemary, heather and other Mediterranean herbs is in the air.

Welcome to the town which takes pride in 135 year old tradition in tourism, the jewel of Croatia. Whichever road one may choose to come to Hvar, one would come across many monuments witnessing the rich historic heritage.
The main town square, St. Stephen square, lined by right and left side by fine palaces of the two oldest parts of the town, Groda and Burg, is considered the largest and most beautiful mediaeval square on the Adriatic coast. Furthermore it is crowned by the oldest communal theatre in Europe, finished and open to the public in the early 1612.
The mild climate, 300 sunny days per year, lush vegetation, picturesque bays, lovely pebble beaches and picnic resorts, clear summer nights with million diamond stars above and crystal clear emerald sea by day, revealing all Neptune’s riches to visitors are completed by the intensive fragrance of lavender, rosemary, heather and other aromatic herbs. Cricket and grasshopper concerts lull you to sleep. It makes the visit immemorable and Hvar one of the most appealing destinations on the Adriatic coast.
How to reach Hvar ?
Split, the second large town of Croatia, is the closest port on the mainland and can be reached by air, land or sea. One may decide to get to Split by one’s car, by bus, by train or plane, and board speed boats (catamaran) to reach the town of Hvar in 60 min ride. On the other hand one may take the ferryboat from the port of Rijeka and get to Split or directly to the port of Stari Grad on the island of Hvar.
The ferry passage from Split to Stari Grad takes 130 min. and upon arrival it will take another 15 min drive to reach the town itself. In case you are not coming by car you can reach Hvar by a direct catamaran line in 60 min drive.
The additional option is to pass Split and continue to the port of Drvenik and make a very short ferry passage to Sucuraj on the island of Hvar, but you will have to take a two and a half hour drive to reach the town of Hvar, Sucuraj being the furthermost eastern point of the island.

Maja, the wife, is a good housewife and cook, who has graduated from Secondary catering school and School for salesmen. Language communication in English and German.
Jakov, a hotelier and a catering specialist with 15 year experience of working in Germany, is also a passionate wine cellar tender. He also has a lot of experience in producing wines, desert wines ( prosecco ), Hvar her-brandy and other sorts of brandies. He is fluent in German and can manage in Italian.
All the guests, from all over Europe and other parts of the world ( America, Australia and New Zealand), who have been staying with us, coming through Internet contact, have been quite pleased with the stay and the service, and we hope so will you.

Our family pension is situated in a quiet, sunny quarter with a view of the sea, surrounded, terraces and with a parking area of its own. There are two market places nearby. The first beach is but a few hundred meters away and a 10 min. stroll will take you to the main square, the heart of the town. Reaching the port you will find many taxi-boats which may take you either to the excursion destinations or to the neighbouring Paklinski islands facing the town to discover many lovely beaches and excellent restaurants.
Upon your arrival we will wish you welcome upon our terrace - restaurant in the grapewine and kiwi leaves shadow and will let you enjoy the taste of our home made wine and brandy ( grape or herb ) or home prosek.
Breakfast is served on our terrace, if requested. In July and August, we make bookings weekly (Saturday to Saturday). June, July, August and September are the months when our guests are treated Dalmatian supper, which is paid separately.

* APP. NR. 5 - one studio-app. 4 + (2) consisting of two double rooms (possibility of an additional bed at request) and a kitchenette. Each room has a private bathroom (shower and toilet), air condition, TV satelite and its own balcony,
* ROOM NR. 6 - one three bed room with a private balcony, refrigerator, air condition, TV satelite and a shower and bathroom with a toilet.

We offer good home made wines, brandy and sweet port from our cellar. Virgin olive oil from our olive groves is availiable. Occasionally there is wine tasting in our wine cellar.
Should you wish to discover the beauties of the island of Hvar and see other touristic destinations of the island, we recommand the Piaggio-Energie 50 cm3 authomatic scooters. They are rented at the price of 38,00 Euro per day in August and at any other period at 34,00 Euro. The fuel is not comprised. You are requested to have the permit to drive them, however.

* Should you pay the full amount in advance, namely up to 100 days prior to your stay it will earn you a 5% discount.
