OKUKLJE, a frequent destination of boaters, is situated in one of the most protected coves on the island of Mljet. Local restaurants offer fish specialities, Okuklje, a village and harbour in the cove in the eastern part of northern coast of the island of Mljet, 11 km East of Babino Polje; population 16. It serves as a port of the villages in the interior. Maranovici and Korita. Chief occupations are farming, viticulture, olive growing and fishing. The coast of the well protected bay are largely covered by vegetation. Okuklje is now connected with the local asphalt road, for cars.
