The castle of the Frankopan family from XV century in the centre, where are held various music-cultural manifestation, and the cathedral from the XIII century are the significant historic monuments who are worth of visiting them. Beside the cultural events in the castle are offered a variety entertainment on the town squares on which you can run into plays and musical performances or one of the fisherman’s nights. The day of the town is celebrated from the 8th of August to the 10th of August. This celebration has a secular tradition, and than the main town square becomes a big market-place on which salesman from all the island come to offer their merchandises and delicious products such as vine, schnapps, honey, cheese, olive oil and lavender products. From the central part of the town there is a promenade that offers a wide range of restaurants with sea view and it’s ideal for take a walk in the evening. From the crowded harbour of the town are departing trip boats that drive the guests on the trip on Plavnik Island, St. Gregory and in the Stara Baška. On the left and on the right of the old town are situated sandy, gravel and rocky beaches.For the visitors that love sports the town of Krk offers many recreational contents on sea and on the main land, but of especially interesting are the cycling tour trips which allow the guests to discover the island and its marvellous landscapes.The town of Krk is a place that is willingly visited by numerous guests from whole Europe.
